I can’t figure out why ping doesn’t work on my Mac on my home network. It works fine on other networks, but not at home. No router settings are blocking it. Traceroute works fine, but all pings fail to every address. Internal network pings work fine. Other machines work fine, just not the Mac.

Although I have many years of formal education, most of what I've learned has come from experimenting and trying to solve problems on my own. Once an idea for a project is set in my mind, it is all-consuming and one must learn everything possible about the subject on the way to the outcome.
